So I felt like I needed to buy a new toy/gadget/thing to play with the other day. After looking around, nothing took my fancy. Somehow the idea of buying a domain + web hosting popped into my mind. After a few days of mulling over the idea, I just bought a domain
.
In due course, www.noizwaves.com will likely replace the current noizwaves.bur.st URL for this site.I’m undecided whether the blog should hold the www sub-domain or its own special blog sub-domain. Heck, maybe it can have both!
I used DreamHost for the web hosting. After looking around at a few places, this one seemed good. A friend also recommended them for their ease of use and excellent customer support. The hosting gives me lots of sub-domains and e-mail addresses, and private domain registration.
Right now I’m looking forward to making some regular posts about my recent activities. Life has been unbelievably busy over the last 4 months it’s crazy! A regular outlet is just what I need.
Update: www.noizwaves.com is now 100% operational!
Lots of uni related stuff has been happening over the past few weeks. Uni results have come out, my 2008 Honours offer letter came, and we had our sacrilegious note burning cleansing session.
It’s been so long since my last blog post, so this one will be full of the general happenings of the last few months. So much has changed; computers have died, laptops purchased, uni degrees have been changed, exams have been and gone, and a few gadgets have been purchased
Thats the topic of this post

But there was one rose that stood out amongst the thorns; alas Lightning and Google Calendar Provider were discovered.

For those of you who know me personally, you’ll be aware I’ve been wanting a shiney new laptop for a while now. But no actual need for one, the purchase of a new computer was completely unjustified. So for the last few months I’ve been wishing death upon my computers, and last Sunday that wish came true…
I thought I would have a look on Google to see how high up my blog appears when searching for keywords in my articles. After searching for “noiz waves introduction”, it just occurred to me how ugly and unoptimised the HTML page titles are for the blog posts by default in WordPress:

“Hello World”
Now that has been said, blogging can start ![]()
Noiz Waves was officially opened at 7:30am on April 12th 2007 (it is no coincidence this date falls in the middle of mid-semester study break). I will focus on blogging short design examples in what ever language I’m doing most of my working in (C# & ASP.NET at the moment) plus any cool little tricks I find along the way.
